The Arizona Cardinals are 2-0 after beating the New York Giants on the road Sunday at Met Life Stadium.

Arizona’s starting Quarterback Carson Palmer was not able to play, instead back up quarterback, Drew Stanton, took over his duties and guided the Cardinals to a 25-14 victory.

Palmer was not able to throw all week long as he was nursing a shoulder injury.

“Hey baby, you’re up,” were the words that Stanton heard from head coach Bruce Arians, hours before the start of the game and he was ready to go.

Stanton completed 14 of 29 passes for 167 yards, he was not intercepted, and he finished with a solid performance.

“Game ball went to Drew Stanton,” head coach Bruce Arians mentioned after the game.

Ted Grin Jr. returned a punt 71 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and the Cardinals’ defense forced three turnovers.

Arians praised his team for a great effort and for the win after the game, “It was a great team win, offense, defense, special teams contributed on the win. To win on the road takes everybody.”

“We are excited, we wanted to get this win on the road, we wanted to stack two wins and carry the momentum into next week,” running back Andre Ellington said after the game.

Ellington carried the ball 15 times for 91 yards he gave credit to his teammates, “The offensive line did its job by opening holes for me, it made my job easy.”

For New York Eli Manning had a typical Manning game, but it was not enough to overcome the Cardinals.

Manning finished the game with 277 passing yards, completing 26 of 39 passes and 2 touchdowns; he was intercepted twice.

Next Sunday the Cardinals will face the 49ers at University of Phoenix Stadium.
