Of course all parents want their child to do well in school. A recent study has shown that eating dinners as a family will boost concentration and social skills in children. This will allow them to excel in the classroom.

According to the Daily Mail, psychologists studied families with children aged six to eleven, and found that they concentrated more in school, obtained better social skills and got into less trouble as the teens took part in family meals.

For this idea to be beneficial, however, meals as a family needs to happen at least four times a week to have a benefit. Research shows that only less than a third of families actually sit down to dinner together.

Some of the common reasons as to why families aren’t having meals together is of course, busy schedules, picky eaters in the family, or the children’s after school commitments.
