Diamondbacks-Logo-Red-1280x10241PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) announced their first-ever #DbacksSocial Speakeasy, to be held on Aug. 29 at the Coors Light Strike Zone at Chase Field. All fans in attendance at the #DbacksSocial Media Night game that evening will be eligible to stop by the newly-designed bar but will be required to follow specific instructions from the team’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or newly launched Snapchat account to gain entrance.

Once inside the #DbacksSocial Speakeasy, fans will receive special drink discounts, the chance to win rare prizes including autographed and game-used items from the players, interact with D-backs alumni and other special guests and hang out with fellow fans that are active with the club’s social media accounts. A ticket to enter Chase Field for the #DbacksSocial Media Night against the Padres is required and can be purchased at dbacks.com/dbackssocial

The D-backs’ official Snapchat account (Dbacks) was launched today, which is considered Social Media Day worldwide. Snapchat is a photo messaging application that is especially popular among users age 23 and younger. According to Snapchat, more than 700 million snaps — photos and videos — are shared daily. The team will regularly update the account with behind-the-scenes photos and videos that can be seen only for short intervals – from one to 10 seconds.

The team recently surpassed 550,000 Facebook fans while the club’s Twitter account (136,000 followers) and Instagram account (67,000 followers) have become popular destinations for fans staying in touch with the franchise. The D-backs regularly rank in the top quintile among the 30 Major League teams in engagement on all three platforms, while the D-backs’ official website, dbacks.com, continues to serve as the main hub for all of the team’s digital offerings.
