Diamondbacks-Logo-Red-1280x10241The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to increase their efforts to make an authentic impact in the Hispanic community.

They have been able to create a culture of diversity at Chase Field and accomplish several initiatives that have made them stand out from the rest. Among them:

More than 20,000 youth baseball and softball players received free jerseys and hats this year, including thousands of Latino youths while keeping several leagues afloat financially.

Each year, the Arizona Diamondbacks have given $150,000 to local schools through the D-Backs School Challenge, including dozens of schools in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods. dbacks.com/schoolchallenge

The D-Backs have funded more than a dozen full college scholarships for Latino students over the past two seasons as part of our D-Backs Helios Scholars program.

New this year is the Sanderson Ford Cronista Infantil program in which one lucky child per month will be a guest on the KSUN La Mejor 1400 broadcast with Oscar Soria and former Mexican pitcher Rodrigo Lopez.

They have also increased their involvement in the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and have attended all local grassroots events, including Cinco de Mayo, Fiestas Patrias, Valle del Sol, Latino Fashion Live, etc.

They will also celebrate their 16th annual Hispanic Heritage Day on Sept. 27 with a street festival and live music while their players wear their jerseys.
