And so they meet again! For the second season in a row the San Antonio Spurs will take on the Miami Heat for the NBA Finals.

In one of the greatest NBA Finals in recent history, the Heat beat the Spurs last year to conquer their second straight title. The Spurs have not forgotten that they were a few second away from winning it all.

“We’re happy it’s the Heat again. We’ve got that bad taste in our mouths,” said Tim Duncan.

The Spurs eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder in six games by beating them 112-107 in overtime. The Heat became the third team in NBA history to make it to four straight finals by eliminating the Indiana Pacers, also, in six games.

The other franchises that have appeared in four straight finals are the Celtics and the Lakers.

LeBron James and Miami will try to be the first team to three-peat since the Lakers did it from 2000 – 2002.

During the regular season the Spur and Heat met twice splitting both games.

The Spur’s Tony Parker who did not play during the second half of game six against Oklahoma City is expected to be ready for game one of the Finals. Parker experienced soreness in his left ankle.

For the Spurs this will be their sixth NBA Finals, they have won four NBA Titles (1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007).

The following is the schedule for the games (2014 NBA Finals):

Game 1: Thursday, June 5

Game 2: Sunday, June 8

Game 3: Tuesday, June 10

Game 4: Thursday, June 12

Game 5: Sunday, June 15 (if necessary)

Game 6: Tuesday, June 17 (if necessary)

Game 7: Friday, June 20 (if necessary)
