D-Backs Outfielder Gerardo Parra to Help Pack Bags of Hope to Help End Hunger

WHAT: Parra will join D-backs employees and UnitedHealthcare employees tomorrow at 10:30AM to pack meals as part of the “Pack the House” program in support of Kitchen on the Street’s Bags of Hope that aims to fight childhood hunger.  The D-backs and UnitedHealthcare have teamed up to create the “Pack the House” program in which employees from both organizations will pack 49,000 meals, one for every seat at Chase Field, over three volunteer events to provide underserved kids in the Valley with nutritious meals. 

Thousands of children receive reduced-price meals during the school week but do not get enough nourishment over the weekend. Bags of Hope provides nutritious, kid-friendly meals and snacks, which include fruit snacks, pretzels and fruit cups. The Bags are given to underserved children who do not have access to school lunch programs during the weekend.
