A large amount of teens are now using the dating app Tinder.
13 to 17-year-olds make up the majority of users for this “hook up” app. Tinder’s co-founder Justin Mateen added that 25 to 32-year-olds make up about 32 percent of Tinder’s users and the remainder is older than 45.
More than sever percent of Tinder’s users are aged between 13 and 17, which means they actually outnumber the 35 to 44-year-olds, who make up 6.5 percent of the app’s users.
But rather than these teens hoping to find romantic dates on the app, Scott Driscoll of Internet Safety Concepts believes they use Tinder, where people simply look at your pictures to see if they like you or don’t like you, to boost their self-esteem.
And because Tinder also works with GPS, teens can find other users based on where they are located.
