The event benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases.

The gala’s honorary chairman is international jeweler and Chairman of The Molina Group Alfredo J. Molina who has devoted his life to serving others and strives to live a life of significance. The Molina Group is the parent company of Molina Fine Jewelers and Black, Starr & Frost.

Knowing St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is doing everything possible to advancement treatments and care that will one day cure terrible diseases like cancer, Molina is passionate about helping St. Jude kids. When describing the gift of life, he once said, “I believe every individual is a precious jewel and it is our commitment and social responsibility to ensure they become brilliant.”

Among the guests will be a patient family who will share their St. Jude experience. Participants also will enjoy dinner, dancing and live music while raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through a silent auction.

Thanks to events like this, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.

Gala chairman Gerardo Higginson wants the community to understand every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists can use that knowledge to save thousands more children in all 50 states, including Arizona, and around the world.

“After visiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital numerous times and meeting families touched by its lifesaving treatment and research, this gala represents so much more than an event,” said Higginson. “Together we are keeping hospital founder Danny Thomas’ dream alive that no child should die in the dawn of life and we won’t stop supporting the St. Jude mission until no child dies from cancer.”

Organizers of this year’s gala include committee members Gerardo Higginson, Stella Paolini, Diana Prieto-Bernal, Joanna Cuevas, Martha Navarro, Rosa Macias, Manny Fimbres and Luptia Galaviz. Joining Molina Fine Jewelers as sponsors are Univision Arizona, Gala Entertainment, Cox Communications and Mujeres Unicas.

Individual tickets are $200. Visit stjude.org/promesasymilagros to learn more or contact Fernando Valadez by calling (602) 385-0480 or emailing fernando.valadez@stjude.org.
