Wildcats Dominate; Boston College a Day Late and a Dollar Short

Ka’Deem Carey Carries Arizona to a Bowl Victory
Tucson, AZ – Dominio total or total domination in English sums up how the Arizona Wildcats handled the Eagles of Boston College in the Advocare V100 Bowl.
In a game that featured the two best running backs in the country in Ka’Deem Carey from Arizona and Andre Williams from Boston College, Carey’s performance overshadowed that of Williams a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Arizona beat Boston College 42-19. Carey finished the game with 169 yards and two touchdowns, while Williams ran for 75 yards on 26 carries. It was Carey’s 16th straight game with 100 yards or more.
With the win Arizona finished with 8 wins for the second straight season and a record of 8-5.
Arizona produced 529 yards of total offense. Wildcat Senior Quarterback B.J. Denker threw for 275 yards completing 17 of 24 passes. The Wildcats scored six touchdowns tying an Advocare V100 Bowl record.
The Eagles secondary could not contain the Cats offense. Trey Griffey added material to Arizona’s highlight reel as he caught his first career touchdown, a 26-yard pass by B.J. Denker.
BC finished the season with a record of 7-6 in the ACC.
As Ka’Deem Carey stomped all over, the Eagles running back Andre Williams was a non-factor in the game. BC’s Senior wide receiver Alex Amidon finished the game with 10 catches for 129 yards setting up a school record for career receptions with 191.
It was first-year coach Steve Addazio’s debut in a bowl game for the Eagles.
Arizona won its second-consecutive bowl game and made its fifth bowl appearance in sixth seasons, something the school had done only one other time (1989-94). The Wildcats improved their record to 8-9-1 in 18 all-time bowl appearances.
On the Defensive side senior linebacker Jake Fischer matched his career high with 14 tackles, including 1.5 for loss. Fischer played in every game of the 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 seasons (52 games).
