Survey of Attitudes of Hispanics and Asian Americans on Immigration

latinos in usaHispanics and Asian Americans together account for two-thirds of the 28 million immigrants who are in the U.S. legally, and Hispanics alone account for about three-quarters of the additional 11.7 million immigrants in the country illegally. On Thursday at 12:01 a.m. EST, the Pew Research Center will release new national surveys examining each group’s views of immigration. The report will be available online at www.pewresearch.org/hispanic at 12:01 a.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 19

 The new surveys examine topics such as views of current immigration proposals, awareness of the debate occurring in Washington and experience with the immigration system. 

Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan source of data and analysis. It does not take advocacy positions. Its Hispanic Trends Project, founded in 2001, seeks to improve understanding of the U.S. Hispanic population and to chronicle Latinos’ growing impact on the nation.
