Jenni Rivera, gone but not forgotten, was the big winner Wednesday night at the 2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards in Los Angeles. Taking home the all-important Artist of the Year award as well as female Artist of the Year; Digital Download Artist of the Year; Albums Artist of the Year and Banda Artist of the Year, the late 43-year-old took home a total of seven awards.

In April, at the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Rivera was nominated for 18 awards and won six of them. Fans as well as the music community still admire the immense talents of Rivera who died in a plane crash late last year.

Following Rivera on sheer number of awards Wednesday night was Gerardo Ortiz – who holds the records as the winner of most Billboard Mexican Music Awards with 17 – collected four honors this year: Male Artist of the Year, Songs Artist of the Year and Norteño Artist of the Year.

Other winners included La Arrolladora Banda el Limon de Rene Camacho, Joan Sebastian, and Voz De Mando. Los Tigres del Norte received the first ever Billboard “Leaders Award” in recognition of their leadership and their social activism.
